Open Art Class

Monday 1:00pm - 3:00pm

 

This course offers class members the chance to work on their own project or any medium of their choice. 

If you'd like to attend a relaxed and friendly class, working on something of your own but with tutor help and advice throughout this class is ideal.

You'll need to bring your own materials and ideas!

Portraiture

Monday 7:00pm - 9:00pm

 

This is a fully tutored course looking at a wide variety of drawing and painting methods, common difficulties and how to overcome them and many other aspects of portraiture. Working directly from a model, using photographs or the work of great masters; this class is ideal for anyone really wanting to get to grips with portraiture.

Drawing & Painting

Tuesday 1:30pm - 3:30pm

 

These classes offer in-depth tuition and practical experience of a different medium or subject every six weeks. Some past examples are landscape painting, pen & ink, using colour, expressive watercolours, portrait painting in soft pastel and many more. 

New course begins Jan 8th

Life Drawing

Tuesday 7:00pm - 9:00pm

 

Working from a different nude model each week, this fully tutored class is ideal for beginners and those with more experience.

Each session is booked by replying to a weekly mailout. To book a place on the next class and/or to be added to the mailing list please get in touch.

Drawing boards are provided. Suggestion for initial materials; A3 sketchpad with HB & 4B pencils or charcoal.

Oil Painting

Wednesday 7:00pm - 9:00pm   and    Saturday 10:30am - 12:30pm and/or 1:30pm - 3:30pm

 

Working from provided images or your own ideas, class members are able to really get to grips with oil painting. Often regarded as a difficult medium to use, oils are in fact the most forgiving of all mediums; allowing all manner of working methods, expression and experimentation. With group and individual tuition on colour mixing and painting methods, class members will be provided with a peaceful, supportive and friendly atmosphere to get the most out of the course. This class is ideal for complete beginners and those with more experience.

Drawing Skills

Thursday 1:30pm - 3:30pm

 

Drawing directly from life is perhaps the best way to improve our drawing skills. Working in Kelvingrove Art Gallery & Museum, these classes offer the perfect opportunity to train in drawing and sketching from direct observation. With tuition and guidance, class members are guaranteed to improve their drawing ability.

Portraiture Sundays

Sunday 1:00pm - 4:00pm

 

Working from a model, this course gives a more intensive opportunity to practice painting from life in oils. Fully tutored with guidance and advice on observation, colour mixing and application this course is an ideal way to progress in portrait painting.

Tutored 3 hour Life Drawing

Saturday or Sunday 1pm - 4pm (not every week - check here for next class)

 

With one pose for the duration of the class these sessions are idea for those interested in working with a longer timescale and with whatever medium they prefer.
